Mission

The paramount goal of Tech Climbing is to promote the sport we love.  It is our purpose to provide a means to overcome obstacles, to form lasting friendships, to promote environmental stewardship, and to enrich the community around us.  But hey, if you don’t believe in all that jazz, there is still a middle ground that can be found in facing a tangible challenge and surrounding oneself with individuals dedicated to helping you succeed.  This is the essence of climbing and the main reason why it has given rise to such a close, fraternal community.

We climb anywhere, anytime, and as often as possible.  The unique location of Lubbock has provided us with a great opportunity to be squarely in the middle of some of the greatest climbing in the country.  Yeah, it might be a little bit of a drive but then again it’s not a road trip if it’s less than five hours, right.  During the semester we take weekend trips to climbing areas in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.  We frequent locations such as Hueco Tanks, Reimer’s Ranch, Enchanted Rock, Last Chance, and the Wichita's.  We also compete in competitions like Rock Rodeo, Granite Gripper, and even our own events Vertical Plains and the Dust Bowl.  When the chance presents itself we also take extended trips to Colorado, Utah, California, Mexico…the opportunities are endless.

Dues: $75/semester for returning members.

         $50/semester for new members.
